Another Casual Weekend

How was your weekend?
We spotted some baby swallows outside the art supply store. That was fun. I could sit there all day watching them. Every once in a while an adult swallow would swoop in, feed them, and take off again in search of more insects.

We made our way to the library on Fort Street. This isn't my local branch, but it is open on Sunday, and they always have amusing book displays. Today, they had a copy of the Malleus Maleficarum on a shelf next to a self-help book by someone that writes for Pop Sugar. I mean, the Malleus is sort of a self-help book if you're a witch hunter, I guess. Anyway, I love that our library has er...something for every taste.
We've had downpours all weekend, but the skies cleared just long enough to take a few snaps while we were out. I always feel better when it rains in the run-up to Independence Day. Fireworks are legal in Nebraska and there's always someone that will set them off  even if conditions are dry and windy. At least with a good soaking as we've had the past few days there won't be much grassland fire danger.

Gah! I did it again with the purse that *almost* matched. Sigh, I really need brighter lights in the house as I can't tell how far I'm off until I get outside.

Well, Monday's nearly done. Tomorrow's a holiday, so that obviously breaks things up a bit. I think I'll get a jump start on things by going to sleep now before every idiot in the neighbourhood starts shooting off fireworks at all odd hours. Happy Fourth if you're in the US, and a happier 4th if you're in the UK as you can celebrate being rid of us! To my neighbours in Canada, a (belated) very happy 150th birthday-you don't look a day over 149.
