Come For the Clothes, Stay For the Whinging

This isn't a sexy, play-with-my-hair pose, I just have a stabbing pain at the back of my head??.  But hey, I do what I can. We've had a hectic, mixed-up week around here (that's a grand understatement-stress much?!), but I still managed to get dressed. Can't say I didn't accomplish anything! My foot continues to heal, and hopefully by the time we go on holiday in April I will be able to manage without the funny shoe. I probably won't be back into heels, but anything would have to look better than this. Right, complaining won't change anything, so on to the clothes. I purchased this vintage skirt last summer from an online seller. It was described as a 50's skirt, but I'm pretty sure it isn't. The metal zipper doesn't seem to be original, and I think that's what threw her. I know when I replace a zip I use whatever I have in the correct size-sometimes plastic, sometimes metal. Anyway, this is probably 70's or 80's but I love the co...

Clothes, Cake, and Cameras

I apologise for the poor quality of these photos as they came off my phone. I've recently purchased a new camera, but haven't really had the time so sit down and get used to working with it. I appreciate your patience as I sort things through.  That beast weighs a tonne! I need a new tripod as my old one would never hold it-even without the lens and flash. Clearly more camera than I require, but it was too good of a deal to pass up.  So clothes. I've been wearing them, as you do.  This is a 70's polyester maxi dress and a 70's Ultrasuede coat. I paid $20.00 for the coat, which is much more than I would typically fork over for Ultrasuede. I made an exception because it fitted perfectly, and well...that blue! Yes, I have an Ultrasuede suit in the same shade of blue, but this is a full-length coat so...justified? I'm not convinced, but it is mine now and I plan to wear it to death as Ultrasuede knows no season. The basket bag is yet another Caro-Nan, this one from ...

Goody's Two Shoes

Image
Sometimes I purchase accessories without a plan for wearing them. At first glance, yellow, orange, and green shoes seemed impractical, but I knew they'd get worn more than a sensible pair, Eventually. The trouble with buying out-of-season items is forgetting them when the appropriate time rolls around. Knowing I have a tendency to "lose" my items, this pair have been sitting beneath my piano bench since December. I didn't forget about them! There's a method to the madness.  The garden is coming along. Our weather finally warmed, and the tomato plants are responding. The peas are finishing up, and the purple sprouting broccoli should be ready shortly. The tall green plants at the rear of the photo are Yukon Gold potatoes growing in our deep bag bed. I didn't think they would work-shows how much I know! Here's how I wore the dress in August of 2015.  I forgot to unpack this dress last year, so I kept it under the piano all winter...just kidding! I did unpack...
